Paris Agreement
The Paris Agreement is an international treaty on climate change adopted at COP 21 in Paris in 2015 and entered into force in November 2016 with the primary objective of " strengthening the global response to the threat of climate change ".
With this agreement, the participating countries commit to keeping the increase in global average temperature well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and to strive to limit the increase to 1.5°C.
Part of the agreement is to support developing countries as they respond to climate change and address its environmental and social impacts.
